Medi4akt HD Thin

Sterile thin hydrocolloid dressing.

Hydrocolloid dressings have been available on the market for many years, and numerous studies continue to confirm their effectiveness on a wide range of chronic and acute wounds.

Hydrocolloids create a moist interface between the wound and the dressing, facilitate autolysis, and promote the production of granulation tissue, thereby creating a wound environment considered optimal for achieving wound healing.

Hydrocolloid dressings consist of a layer of gelling material adhered to a semi-permeable polyurethane film. The result is an absorbent and self-adhesive dressing even in humid conditions.

  • Creates the ideal moist environment for the healing process by promoting angiogenesis, increasing the number of dermal fibroblasts and stimulating the production of granulation tissue
  • Thanks to Medi4akt HD Thin’s ability to retain moisture, the dressing helps to soften and rehydrate the necrotic tissue and slough, facilitating autolytic debridement
  • The transparency of the dressing allows to continuously monitor the wound
  • Medi4akt HD Thin has a good absorbency and a high breathability
  • When using the dressing the absorbed exudate is transformed into a gel: this makes the removal easy and atraumatic and, by protecting nerve endings, helps reduce pain in the wound bed
  • The smooth outer coating of the dressing reduces the coefficient of friction and decreases the risk of accidental removal of the same
  • Medi4akt HD Thin is waterproof: patients can continue to bathe or shower while keeping the dressing in place
